Free College Application week starts tomorrow! Through ApplyTexas, from October 12th to October 18th, students can apply to any public Texas college, university, community college, or trade school for undergraduate admission completely free.
This is the perfect time for students to submit applications for schools that would allow them Direct Admissions, which means that the university is ready to admit them when they complete the application. If students are unsure which schools would provide them the opportunity for Direct Admissions, they can check My Texas Future, which can be accessed with an ApplyTexas account. Many schools from this flyer utilize Direct Admissions, and all qualify for free applications this week!

Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day!
This morning, our Central Office team made the rounds with breakfast to celebrate the incredible custodians who take such great care of our schools every day!
Because our custodians have staggered schedules, we couldn’t catch everyone for a picture—but don’t worry, we made sure everyone got breakfast! 😊 Some of our amazing team may be missing from the photos, but they are definitely not missing from our appreciation.
Thank you to our custodial team for everything you do behind the scenes and all across Luling ISD. We appreciate you more than you know!

Weather & Dismissal Update!
Last night we celebrated our students who earned a perfect score of 10 on their 2026 STAAR Writing!
Not a good score. Not even a great score. But a PERFECT SCORE! These students demonstrated exceptional writing skills and should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
A special thank you to Patterson Plumbing for providing the awesome yard signs for our Perfect 10 students!

Some of our advanced Health Science students practicing phlebotomy skills - we love to see them learning practical skills for their future!
Our talented band students are working hard, growing their skills, and bringing their music to life! There’s something special about walking past the band hall and hearing great music ringing through the streets!
🚨 SCHEDULE UPDATE 🚨
This Friday’s game, originally scheduled for October 2nd, has been moved to:
📅 Thursday, October 1st
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Hallettsville - Brahma Memorial Stadium
This mutually agreed-upon change is due to the impending weather conditions being forecasted for later this week. Since this game is a district game, it must be played. Moving the game up to Thursday gives a better chance of completing it while navigating the expected weather through the weekend.
All Jr. High and JV games scheduled for this week have been canceled.
Student Council gifted Mr. Greathouse with a "Welcome to Luling" basket, and with it being full of all kinds of Watermelon goodies it is a true embodiment of how sweet it has been since he decided to join our team!
Our SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Committee) had an amazing turnout for the 1st meeting of the year! 💚 If you were unable to attend & still want to get involved, please reach out to Mrs. Aldis for info on upcoming events! Info on next meeting will be shared soon!
Students are out... but teachers are still working hard to improve! 💪🏾! #raisethebar
Each year, the Luling Fire Department comes to campus and works with our Culinary students on how to correctly utilize a fire extinguisher. Thank you Luling FD and Mrs. Powell for preparing and empowering our students to stay safe both in and out of the classroom!
Just a reminder! Students will have early release, followed by no school the next day while our staff participates in professional learning to continue to improve what we do for students!
The Class of 2027 celebrated Senior Sunrise bright and early this morning!
Recruiters for the Marines were on campus this week! Not only was one of our recent graduates with them, but we also have 3 students from this graduating class of seniors who are interested in enlisting with the Marines! We could not be more proud of our students who want to serve and protect our country.
LHS students had a blast at Career Fair today! They got to learn about many different career possibilities in the area and see information from different branches of the military as well. Thank you to Texas Workforce Commission for sponsoring this event, and thank you to all the local business and vendors that came out to show our students all of these different opportunities available to them!
Luling ISD is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
