Dear LHS Families:
As the end of the semester approaches, I would like to share information about semester/final exams. Semester/final exams begin on Tuesday, December 15th.
Please review the details of the semester/final exam schedule which is attached to this email. Every student regardless of his/her exemption status must attend all morning classes. When exams begin on Tuesday, we will be running only one lunch period, 11:49 a.m.-12:37 p.m. If a student is exempt for any his/her exam, the student is not expected to attend the scheduled afternoon exam class period. Students were able to exempt some of their semester/final exams if they met the qualifying criteria.
Any student exempt from their exam will not be allowed to 'walk the halls' during scheduled exam periods. Please keep in mind that district buses will run on their normal time, 3:55 p.m.
The following are part of our exam policies and procedures:
- Students must be in attendance for any scheduled semester/final exam.
- Students will not be allowed to leave early from their scheduled exam period, even if they finish their exam early.
- A student must take his/her exam during the scheduled exam period/time unless approved by the campus administration.
- If a student is absent from his/her exam without proper documentation, see information below, the student will receive a zero (0) on the exam for their class. Per the LISD grading policy, semester/final exams count as 10% of the final semester grade.
Important: If a student is unable to take his/her exam due to serious illness, a make-up exam will be offered only if the student has visited the doctor on or before the date of the exam and received a note (dated and signed by the doctor). Only original signed documents will be accepted. A note with a parent signature will not be valid documentation to take a make-up exam.
Any remote students (attending school virtually from home), will be able to access his/her teacher's exam through Google Classroom, unless directed otherwise.
