I have been a teacher for over forty years, coming to Luling High School in March 1979.  During most of those years, I have taught freshman and senior English classes.  I've been here so long that I even remember the three story building with the bats, the light fixtures falling from the ceiling and the spring flooding in the basement. For approximately 20 years, I have been teaching for Austin Community College. For one semester, I taught at the New Braunfels campus of Howard Payne. I teach primarily in Luling now, but I have also taught at San Marcos, Hays, and Bastrop campuses.  I'm interested in a variety of subjects.  However, Tolkien and medieval literature are my areas of expertise.  Last summer I had the privilege of attending The Writing Academy in Kemah.  I am totally sold on this program and I believe that it has given us the tools to succeed in STAAR testing.  I truly love the students at LHS--they make me keep coming back each year.  Like the Oxford Cleric from Canterbury Tales, I will "gladly learn and gladly teach."
