LHS Enforces Cell Phone Policy

Parents and students,

In order to maximize teaching and learning, we are enforcing the electronics policy that is in our 2016-2017 Student Handbook. "If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The student/parent may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal's office for a fee of $15."

The $15 goes into a fund that is used for student incentives such as attendance rewards and other rewards. Students may use their electronic devices before and after school outside the building and during lunch outside the building. If you need to contact your student, please contact the office, and we will call your student to the office to speak with you or deliver a message. If your student needs to speak with you, he or she may use the office phone.

Here are the consequences for infractions:
1st offense: Confiscated item may be picked up by student at the end of the school day at the front office. No charge.
2nd offense: Confiscated item must be picked up by a parent or guardian at the end of the school day at the front office. $15 fee.
3rd offense: Confiscated item may be picked up by student on the last day of school. No charge.
